India PCC Apostille Service

Certify Indian Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) for use abroad

Apostille Indian Police Clearance (PCC) certificates at Ministry of External Affairs.

Isarey provides specialist Legalization and Apostille services in India to certify Criminal Record Certificates and Background Checks at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and at embassies and consulates in New Delhi, including the embassies of Qatar and the UAE.

Most PCC Apostilles are processed in 3-4 business days and delivered worldwide by express courier.

India Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) are attested for official use abroad by obtaining an Apostille stamp from the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, following notarization and attestation by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. It can be possible to obtain an Apostille on a good-quality scan of a PCC, but we recommend providing the original certificate to ensure no problems when submitting to the recipient authority abroad to show a clean Indian criminal record.

Authorities of countries that have signed the Hague Apostille Convention will recognise the Apostille directly as confirmation of authenticity. Apostille countries include: ES SpainSpain - IT ItalyItaly - PT PortugalPortugal - GR GreeceGreece - CY CyprusCyprus - FR FranceFrance - SA Saudi ArabiaSaudi Arabia - CN ChinaChina

Otherwise, confirmation is required from the destination country's embassy in India. Non-Apostille countries include: AE United Arab EmiratesUnited Arab Emirates - QA QatarQatar - TH ThailandThailand - TW TaiwanTaiwan - VN VietnamVietnam

Isarey will take care of the entire process for you. We offer individual assistance certifying your documents and a dedicated project manager to ensure that each process is carried out efficiently and securely.

We'll arrange an insured courier to collect your original certificate and then obtain all necessary apostilles, legalizations and certifications. We also provide notarized and certified translations into Spanish, French, Portuguese and other languages, so that your certificate is properly legalized and ready to submit in the country where you need to present it.

We arrange secure delivery by courier worldwide.

Germany
Exceptions to Apostille Convention (Documents required for Germany)
Germany has objected to the accession of certain States to the Apostille Convention (including India), so that the Convention does not apply between Germany and India. Indian documents required for use in Germany may also require additional attestation by the German embassy or by the Indian embassy in Berlin.

How to obtain an Indian Police Clearance Certificate

PCC certificates can be obtained in India and from abroad and legalized with an apostille stamp to show an absence of an Indian criminal record for submission to authorities overseas or in support of visa applications. Indian PCCs do not have a specified expiry date, but they are valid for one destination country only. Additional certificates are required if needed for multiple countries.

Most authorities requiring criminal record certificates ask for a recent certificate (usually issued within the last three months)

Certified Translations of Indian Police Clearance Certificates

Indian PCC Criminal Record Certificates are issued in English. If you need to submit your certificate in a country which does not have English an official language, then a certified translation may be required. The certified translation must meet the requirements of the destination country, so that a translation done locally in India may not be valid and may require additional authentication via legalization or an apostille stamp. The original PCC should be apostilled first, before it is translated, so that the apostille stamp itself and the stamps of the notary and magistrate can also be translated.

We offer notarized translations in India, certified with apostille stamps. Alternatively translations can be done in the destination country - we can arrange locally certified translations of Indian PCC certificates in Italy, Spain, Germany and many other countries that will be accepted for official purposes including visa and residency applications.

Isarey works with local notaries and sworn translators in a wide range of destination countries. We'll take care of the entire legalization and translation process, so that your certificates are correctly translated and ready to submit:

  • GERMANY: translations into German must be certified by an officially authorized and appointed sworn translator.
  • SPAIN: translator must be authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign AffairsExternal link (opens in new tab) (in Spanish) ("Traducción Jurada")
  • FRANCE: translations into French must be certified by a translator accredited by a French court of appeal (Cour d'appel)
  • ITALY: translations must be authenticated by a Court Clerk or by a Notary Public in Italy
  • PORTUGAL: translations into Portuguese can be certified in Portugal by a local notary
